  • Production in Spring Colours

08.04–08.04

Tomsk artist Lukiya Murina, who participated together with Nikolai Isaev in the Satka art residencies, has been working on a new series of industrial landscapes. She presented several of her first works on her social media pages, and one of them is again dedicated to Magnezit.

The art of Lukia and Nikolai is known to the citizens of Satka from the exhibitions made en plein air at the Satka production site and held in the in-house museum in 2018. In the new works, Lukia depicted the rotating furnaces of the SPP powders production department, as well as the ThyssenKrupp Bruckhausen plant (Germany) being one of the largest partners of Magnezit Group in Europe.

“All of the production views were painted within the last month,” says the artist, “Currently, I am working on a new series of paintings. I do not know yet how many of them I will dedicate to Magnezit. I will be glad to present them in the future to Satka citizens at the next exhibition.”

A distinctive feature of Lukia Murina’s new works is the palette of colours. This time, the industrial objects are not monochromic. The artist uses turquoise, mauve, purple and ultramarine shades attributed to spring.

“This is a certain palette of colours, in which I wanted to depict the plant’s image. But here the colour is an experiment. After all, even if everything is premeditated, you never know what the result will be. It is amazing what it all results in. I am very happy,” smiles Lukiya.
