In November 22-24 Chelyabinsk hosted "Be Honest" youth tourism forum. The event was attended by more than 120 students from all over Russia, representatives of existing and future university Welcome centers, who are interested in the development of the tourism sector.

Developers, supervisors and organizers of various tourism projects and major cultural events (Welcome center of the Chelyabinsk State Institute of Culture and Arts (ChGIK), "Your Route is Russia!", "Pecha Kucha", "Industrial Designers Club", "Science Slam", "Everything is Simple" festival and others) were engaged as experts and lecturers.

Maria Dodina, leading specialist of External Communications Department, Magnesite Group, introduced the projects of "My Satka" international urban development festival to forum participants. Students became interested not only in the festival effect: they were demonstrated what had been “before” and “after” the implementation of projects. They saw that large-scale international events involving world-famous artists can be organized and held even in a small Ural town. They were sincerely surprised that ordinary materials and small labor costs are the only things necessary to create unusual, but very comfortable and functional urban objects. The most important is to engage local residents, volunteers of any age, representatives of various occupations.

Having got acquainted with the experts and successful projects implemented in the country, the students tried to create their own projects and tourist products, took part in quests and excursion programs.

The forum was organized by the Chelyabinsk State Institute of Culture and Arts and ANO Youth Tourism Centre with the support of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs.
