Master classes and excursions are conducted in the framework of the photo exhibition “I See It this Way” by Viktor Khristenko, which is open in Magnezit Cultural Center until September 20.
Together with the organizers of the “I See It this Way” project, research officers at the Satka Museum of Local Lore prepared excursion programs for guests of the exhibition. They are open every day at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. or 5 p.m. Find a convenient time for the exciting journey through “the very unusual amazing exposition”. That’s exactly what visitors say about the project. “Delight” – it will not be a mistake for me to say that it is the most popular word in the guest book, where new and new comments appear every day:
“Fascinating, inexpressible emotions! A part of the exhibition devoted to long-livers made me cry and stroke a chord of memory from my childhood…”, visitors write.
“It was an immense aesthetic delight, which made me stop feeling time and seeing anything around, when I looked at the photos made by Viktor Khristenko. As if I were there, inside each story…”
By the way, the participation effect mentioned by Natalia Modina is felt by a number of guests. It is due to both the author’s excellence and the stories he selects, sizes of photos and the ways they are arranged, as they cardinally changed the space of the cultural center. They grab the visitors’ attention from the very first moment and amaze them until the end of the excursion.
You are sure to visit a cozy yard with street chess, which “go outside” the photo frame or alternatively start in our reality and invite to play a game – on a black and white “square” or at small tables. Each photo from the “People in the City” series will “invite you” to visit people from different countries. You are sure to hear how wooden boards creak under carpets you will step on, while looking into kind, starry and wise eyes of characters from the “+/-90” series. You are sure to find yourself in hot Spain to see a corrida with the eyes of the legendary torero Pepin Liria, feel and understand his passion and read his thoughts…
Let us remind you that in the framework of the “I See It this Way” project, which is exhibited in Satka with the assistance of Magnezit Group, Sobranie Fund and the municipal administration, three series of photos made by Viktor Khristenko: Spanish “Be Torero”; international “People in the City” and Russian “+/− 90” are exhibited. That’s what the author says about the latter: “I wanted to feel, understand, hear and see ordinary people, who lived their long and in no way ordinary lives in the places, where ‘vanishing sceneries’ are perceived so strongly. ‘+/− 90’ comprises the stories of ordinary inordinary people.” Now the photographer continues making photos for this series, many trips are planned, and the first art works from the expeditions into the Russian hinterlands are presented in the “I See It this Way” exhibition.
