  • AWARDS GIVEN TO “FAMILY HISTORY – NATIONAL HISTORY” CONTEST WINNERS

The V all-Russian students research contest “Family History – National History” 2022 was organized by Sobranie Cultural Initiative Supporting & Preservation Fund, the Russian Historical Society, the Russian Historical Society, the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Higher Education Moscow Pedagogical State University and the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Higher Education Russian State University for the Humanities and the Teacher Education Development Association. The Organizing Committee of the contest includes the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Sobranie Cultural Initiative Supporting and Preservation Fund Sergey Pavlovich Korostelev and the Chairman of the Academic Council of the Russian Academy of Education for Children and Families, Academician of the Russian Academy of Education, Doctor of Psychology, Professor Artur Aleksandrovich Rean.

The contest aims at attracting the attention of young people to the family history, forming personal historical culture among the younger generation, strengthening civic identity, developing research skills of schoolchildren and students, and gaining experience in skillful work with historical sources and family archives.

The contest has two categories:

Nomination I: “Students of General Educational Institutions and Institutions of Secondary Vocational Education in Russia”. This nomination is for the students of 8-11 grades of secondary schools or the first- and second-year students of technical schools (colleges) subject to their admission to an institution of secondary vocational education after the ninth grade of school.

Nomination II: “Students of Educational Institutions of Secondary and Higher Education”. This nomination is for third- and fourth-year students of technical schools (colleges) as well as students of higher educational institutions of Russia studying under bachelor’s and specialist’s programs.

The participants were guided by the following thematic areas when writing their works: 

• Family dynasty on service to the homeland; 

• Unique pages of my family chronicles; 

• Important historical dates and events in the history of my family; 

• The contribution of my family to the cultural heritage of the peoples of Russia; 

• My family in the history of labor glory of my native land.

In 2022, 107 applications from 41 Russian regions were allowed to take part in the contest. Most of the research papers were from the Republic of Udmurtia, the Krasnodarskiy Krai, Nizhegorodskaya and Penzenskaya regions. 

The contest was held in two stages. First, the expert jury evaluated the contest research papers based on the established criteria. According to the scoring, 20 best papers were admitted for stage two. At this stage, the expert jury evaluated the videos presenting the research papers.

The organizing committee of the contest determined the winner and prizetakers of the all-Russian students research contest “Family History — National History”:

The 1st place was won by Anna-Victoria Vladimirovna Pavlukhina, 8th grade student of Gymnasium No. 261 of Saint Petersburg Kirovskiy district, with her supervisor Olga Vladimirovna Pavlukhina and the paper “My Family in the History of Russian Entrepreneurship: History of D.P. Pavlukhin Trade House”, topic – Family dynasty on service to the homeland;

The 2nd place was won by Marina Alekseyevna Sharapenko, 10th grade student of Municipal Budgetary Educational Institution Secondary School No. 20, Penzenskaya region, the city of Penza, with her supervisor Eugenia Konstantinovna Repina and the paper “A Gift of Destiny and Parents: History of a Family Relic”, topic – Unique pages of my family chronicles;

The 3rd place was won by Ksenia Aleksandrovna Orlova, 10th grade student of Municipal Budgetary Educational Institution Secondary School No. 338 of Saint Petersburg Nevskiy district, with her supervisor Alexander Nikholayevich Chudetskiy and paper – “Contribution of the Arteyevs to the Cultural Heritage of the Komi”, topic – The contribution of my family to the cultural heritage of the peoples of Russia.

The award ceremony for the winner and prizetakers of the contest will take place in the fall of 2022 in Moscow, and a cultural program will be prepared for them.

The laureates of the competition were:

1. Polina Sergeyevna Popova, 10th grade student of Municipal Budgetary Educational Institution Secondary School No. 58 Named After G.V. Myasnikov, Penzenskaya region, the city of Penza, with her supervisor Natalia Vladimirovna Yagodina and paper “My Genealogical Tree Through the Lens of Archival Documents”, topic – Unique pages of my family chronicles;

2. Sofya Nikholayevna Porotikova, 10th grade student of Municipal Governmental Educational Institution Razdor Secondary School Named After A.P. Guzhvin», Astrakhanskaya region, the settlement of Razdor, with her supervisor Lyubov Nikholayevna Porotikova and paper “Contribution of the Gamburovs to the Great Victory”, topic – Important historical dates and events in the history of my family;

3. Sergey Aleksandrovich Netyosov, 10th grade student of Municipal Budgetary Educational Institution Karpogory Secondary School No. 118», Arkhangelskaya region, the settlement of Karpogory, with his supervisor Irina Nikholayevna Serebrennikova and paper “The Great Patriotic War in the History of the Nemirovs-Ushakovs from the Pinezhskiy District”, topic – Important historical dates and events in the history of my family;

4. Kristina Vadimovna Stelmashyonok, 8th grade student of Municipal Budgetary Institution Educational Center Pskov Pedagogical Complex, Pskovskaya region, the city of Pskov, with her supervisor Svetlana Fyodorovna Makhovskaya and paper “My War Heroes”, topic – Important historical dates and events in the history of my family;

5. Anton Vitalyevich Minin, 10th grade student of Residential School No. 1 of JSC RZhD, Arkhangelskaya region, the city of Kotlas, with his supervisor Inga Anatolyevna Pakhtusova and paper “History of Russian Germans is My History”, topic – Important historical dates and events in the history of my family;

6. Lada Igorevna Solonitsyna, 10th grade student of State Educational Institution of the Yaroslavskaya Region Secondary School “Provincial College”, Yaroslavskaya region, the city of Yaroslavl, with her supervisor Natalia Vyacheslavovna Strakhova and paper “Materials from the Solonitsyns Family Archive as a Source to Study the Life of P.V. Solonitsyn”, topic – Unique pages of my family chronicles;

7. Andrey Andreyevich Obyskalov, 9th grade student of Budgetary Educational Institution Secondary School No. 104, Omskaya region, the city of Omsk, with his supervisor Olga Anatolyevna Guseva and paper “The Story Told by an Old Photo”, topic – Unique pages of my family chronicles;

8. Ivan Andreyevich Koskov, 9th grade student of Municipal Budgetary Educational Institution Secondary School of Lokot, Kurskaya region, the settlement of Lokot, with his supervisor Oksana Pavlovna Koskova and paper “Children and War – There Is No More Horrible Link”, topic – Important historical dates and events in the history of my family;

9. Lyubov Sergeyevna Kiselyova, first-year student of the Ivanovo Branch of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, Ivanovskaya region, the city of Ivanovo, with her supervisor Marina Valentinovna Roslyakova and paper “About the Life of My Forgoers in the 30-s”, topic – My family in the history of labor glory of my native land;

10. Kristina Leonidovna Mikryukova, first-year student of Izhevsk Institute (Branch) of the All-Russian State University of Justice (the Russian Academy of Law of the Ministry of Justice of Russia), the Republic of Udmurtia, the city of Izhevsk, with her supervisor Natalia Yuryevna Stepanova and paper “Armor Burnt As Firewood. We Were Not Burnt Away…”, topic – Unique pages of my family chronicles.

Three laureates of the contest won special prizes from the project partner — the Emperor’s Mint:

1. Yulia Dmitrievna Lipukhina, 11th grade student of the Municipal Autonomous Institution of Secondary Education “Humanitarian Lyceum”, Tomskaya region, the city of Tomsk, with her supervisor Vera Andreyevna Gaidashova and paper “Search for the Missing Participant of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945)”, topic – Unique pages of my family chronicles;

2. Yaroslava Sergeyevna Rozumyanskaya, 9th grade student of State Budgetary Educational Institution Secondary School No. 1504, Moscow, with her supervisor Tatiana Alekseyevna Yashkova and paper “The Ivanovs, Terek Cossacks”, topic – Unique pages of my family chronicles;

3. Mikhail Vyacheslavovich Karatayev, 8th grade student of the Municipal Autonomous Institution of Secondary Education Gymnasium No. 3, Orenburgskaya region, the city of Orenburg, with his supervisor Tatiana Alekseyevna Karatayeva and paper “Pages from the Family Album of the Zabrodygins”, topic – My family in the history of labor glory of my native land.

By the decision of the Organizing Committee, the laureates will be awarded with diplomas.

The contest is held for the fifth time: in 2018 it was called “History of the Small Homeland — National History”, in 2019, “Family History — National History”, in 2020, “Family History — History of Victory”, in 2021, “Family History — National History”.
