  • DAYS OF GERMAN CULTURE TO BE HELD IN SATKA

Days of German Culture to be held in Satka as part of a major event, the Year of Germany in Russia / Deutschlandjahr in Russland, which started last year and is extended until November 2021.

The events “Days of German Culture in Russian Regions” are held within the Year of Germany in Russia in 20 Russian cities, not only in big cities but in regions as well, from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok, from Arkhangelsk to Krasnodar.

Thanks to the Satka District Development Assistance Fund application which was approved for funding by the international jury of the project competition within “Days of German Culture in Russian Regions 2021” Satka became one of the project sites.

The project event will bring together 2 countries, 2 cities, Satka and Mannheim; 2 cultures and 2 histories, the contemporary art and centuries-old traditions, the past and the future.

New meetings with artists await us. Let us keep some intrigue without mentioning their names or ideas. We will only note that they are two representatives of the street wave from Germany and Russia, already familiar to the residents of Satka. In addition to the stories “telling” the new “pages” of street art, Germany will open up to us with other cultural elements through exhibition projects, master classes, lectures and discussion platforms. The contemporary art is not the only way to bring countries together, but topics of the historical and cultural legacy of both great countries, achievements and acts of people who were able to change the world.

Besides, a part of the events of the Year of Germany in Russia is held online, including interesting quizzes and contests. A part of projects in the science and education, culture and art, future technologies and ecology spheres is intended for school and university students. There are academic competitions and creative activities in which you can still have time to take part.

“The Year of Germany in Russia reflects many aspects: art and culture, language and education, science and research, economics and technology, tourism, ecology and climate protection, renewable energy sources and sustainable development, sports. Besides, we try to show Germany as it really is, with all the diversity of our culture, the variety of opinions and discussions,” Géza Andreas von Geyr, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Russia, noted in an interview.

With the support of the project organizers, the Embassy of Germany in Moscow, the Goethe-Institute, as well as the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce and numerous partners of the Sobranie Fund, the summer in Satka will be exceptional!
