The traveling exhibition of Russian landscape painter Alexandr Shilov “Our Motherland Russia” to open in Satka. Paintings from around Russia will be on display in the halls of the Cultural Center Magnezit from June 21 to July 21. 

Alexandr Alexandrovich Shilov was born in 1974 in the family of the national artist A.M. Shilov. He is a graduate of the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK), the Academic Law University under the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Surikov Moscow State Academic Art Institute. He is an academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, a UN Messenger of Peace, the Chairman of the Spiritual Heritage Committee of the Nations of Russia Assembly. He also has honorary titles of the National Artist of the Republic of Ingushetia, the National Artist of the Chechen Republic and the Honored Artist of the Republic of Dagestan. In 2019, Alexandr Shilov became the first winner of the “Person of the Year” award of the periodical “Russian Business Guide” in the nomination “Cultural Heritage.” 

Alexandr Alexandrovich created over 100 paintings. Many of them, along with private collections, are in collections of museums – in Dresden, in the Vrubel Museum, in the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve, in the State Museum of the Republic of Ingushetia, in the Akhmad-Haji Kadyrov Memorial Complex of Glory, in the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts (a branch of the Russian Museum), in the Museum and Exhibition Center of the Tambov Region. 

A.A. Shilov’s exhibitions are an important component of popularizing Russia and Russian culture worldwide. Personal exhibitions of the artist were held in Dresden, in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in the Bulgarian Cultural Center, in the Embassy of the Republic of Benin, in the Embassy of Palestine.

“Our Motherland Russia” is the main idea of the project. It means continuing the tradition of traveling exhibitions, and bringing artworks on the native country to a wider range of viewers. “The project is my idea and my creation, - says Alexandr Shilov in one of his interviews, - it is intended as a tool that unites nations. Our country is very big, and its nature has many sides. Each region has its own flavor, its own colors, its own internal content, historical fullness. I create my works in various regions and collect them in a single space of an exhibition hall, a gallery or a museum. And the people who come to this exhibition feel united by the whole Russia... A person’s spiritual perception of their native land starts to expand to the level of the entire Russia! And it is “ours” because we have to take care of it all, despite all the strifes, despite all the misunderstandings.” 

The project “Our Motherland Russia” won Aleksandr Aleksandrovich Shilov the World Charity Award in the nomination “Project of the Decade” in 2019.

The exhibition “Our Motherland Russia” was already held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, in the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts, in the Akhmad-Haji Kadyrov Memorial Complex of Glory (the Chechen Republic), in the exhibition hall of the Union of Dagestan Artists, in the North Caucasian Branch of the State Museum of Oriental Art (the Republic of Adygea), in the Museum of Victory on Poklonnaya Gora, in the Patriarchal Metochion.

Press conference and creative meeting with the artist will also be held in Satka on the exhibition opening day. 

The opening ceremony will start at 16:00.
