  • FIRST NIGHT OF SHORT FILMS IN SATKA

“Times change, people change. Why not art?”

These are words of one of the characters of the “Let It Hang” reel about contemporary forms of art appeared in Satka. In summer of 2017, the first International Street Art Festival Satka Street Art Fest ended there. This event was supported by Pro Helvetia Swiss Arts Council and Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Moscow.

Five street art works created by three duets of artists – Russian Aesthetics group, Swiss Nevercrew and Italian SOLO & DIAMOND – were presented to the public on June 1, 2017. The festival was an example of urban environment transformation and helped to rethink external and “internal” image of the town.

Documentary films about work of each of the three teams were shot by students of the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK). They made 3 movies – “Let it Hang,” “Out of Time,” and “Change Your World.” Their characters – artists, passers-by, children – talk about contemporary art and its interpretations, about honesty and inspiration, about perception of the world and oneself.

The premiere in Satka will took place on June 20 at 6.00 p.m. in the Magnezit Culture Center. Free admission.
