The first international Satka Street Art Festival “Other Space” closed in summer 2017. It was supported by the Swiss Culture Board “Pro Helvetia” and the Italian Culture Institute in Moscow. The Festival has set an example of urban environment transformation and promoted the development of creative potential of young people. Five wall paintings created by three artist duos – the Russian Aesthetics group, the Swiss Nevercrew and the Italian SOLO & DIAMOND – were triumphantly presented to the audience.

During the Festival, Satka was both an international art studio and a shooting stage. Documentaries about the work carried out by each of three teams were made by students of the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography. Operating under the lead of Sergey Miroshnichenko, the Russian documentary film maker, they joined three new films in a single motion picture that will be first shown on 5 April at 19:00 in the Film Centre (Vasilyevskaya str. 13).

The film show will be followed by the discussion “Street Art: From Protest To Artistry”.
