  • Satka’s Children Turned into Animators for New Year Holidays

The Permanent Residence of the Ural Industrial Biennale invented an unusual way to spend new year holidays in an interesting and useful way. In the midst of the holiday season, January 4 to 6, Satka’s children could take part in creating a real cartoon. Series of master classes was designed for children over 7; parents could help them during the training.

Every master class took about two hours. Nina Bisyarina, a guest from Yekaterinburg, a graduate of the faculty of animation design of the Ural State Academy of Architecture and Arts, animator was helping children to create a cartoon. Her diploma work Sparrows are Pigeons’ Children was recognised in multiple European animation festivals, and now Nina Bisyarina is glad to share her experience with master class participants.

For a start, children were told of animation techniques. Then the participants started creating characters and backgrounds for the new year cartoon. When the entire material was united, young animators filmed the cartoon.

– During autumn holidays, we've already arranged similar master classes, – Evgenia Chayka, the event coordinator, tells. - Children have created cartoon masks, Japanese lanterns, T-shirts and even their own full-height portraits. The best here is that children can create something with their own hands together with their parents and have a great time.
