November 3, the solemn opening of the first stage of new Magnezit Museum took place.

Due to implementing the project, From Factory to Knowledge-Based Museum, that won the grant of the ХII contest of Potanin’s  Charity Fund, Changing Museum in the Changing World, the customary historical cultural institution is transformed into modern educational and profile center.

By this time, two museum halls have been created: one – for temporary exhibitions; the second – with interactive and multimedia showpieces. Forming the storage hall (with the open storage system) goes on. Not only the interior, but also furniture of these halls is made in style that is not typical of such institutions. For example, design of transformer chairs in the interactive hall enables to modify them into benches or exhibition stands. This solution allows to quickly and easily “refocus” the space and enhance the exhibition potential of the hall.

– The project of Magnezit Museum reconstruction has been developed by KONTORA architectural bureau ( designer Dmitry Baryudin). The authors have managed to create an unusual and at the same time multifunctional museum space due to the latest IT technologies and principles of modern exhibition design, — Galina Golovko, head of Magnezit Museum, tells. — We have emphasized not the mechanisms and production processes, as we used to do, but the main enterprise value — people, due to whom Magnezit has become and remains the leader of the country’s refractory industry. We hope that a new museum will enhance prestige of the enterprise and demanded professions, will demonstrate the paramount role of sate-of-the-art technologies and education. 

The date of opening the first stage of the museum has not been chosen accidentally. On November 3, 2016 Magnezit Museum celebrates its 49th birthday.
